Hi, I'm Bridget Blythe.
Bridget Blythe's Bio:
Through twelve years as a television journalist I've served as a "spokesperson for the community" - bringing viewers necessary information on a daily basis on everything from politics to crime to extreme weather conditions and have delivered critical real-time coverage during events including those surrounding the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings. In TV, I work - and succeed - on a deadline and handle pressure extremely well, as in covering hours of live, unscripted breaking news. Plus, newsgathering is a team sport and I love working with a group to achieve a goal. I'm a go-to person for copy-editing, tightening scripts and for coming up with interesting ways to present stories. I call it finding the nugget. This is how I'm wired. Creativity drives me. I'm proud of my ability to not only see the "big picture", but of being able to zero in on critical details when called for. My experience as a journalist also affords me unique perspective on reaching multiple and disparate audiences. And from a crisis communications standpoint, I understand the importance of preparation and prevention. Participation and partnerships are also important to me - both on the job and in the community. Since 2009, I've volunteered with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in a variety of capacities, including organizing a series of independent fundraisers. I've brought in thousands of dollars for blood cancer research through events, planned and managed by me, including a comedy improv show and a cocktail hour with a raffle and silent auction. With any project I take on, I'm committed and follow through. With LLS, I've also completed a number of endurance events (including three marathons) and served on the Planning Committee for their annual Gala for a Cure, including hosting duties at the LLS Man/Woman of the Year Awards for the last three years. - Bridget Blythe
